React Native vs Native Android: What I Tell Clients

Siddharth·November 5, 2025·5 min read

Where React Native wins

For most business apps — reminders, utility tools, internal dashboards, customer-facing apps without heavy device-specific features — React Native gets you to a working, App Store-ready product faster and with one codebase instead of two.

If budget and timeline matter more than squeezing out the last 5% of platform-specific performance, this is almost always the right call.

Where I'd push back

Apps leaning heavily on background processing, complex animations tied tightly to platform APIs, or deep hardware integration are still better served by native development.

I'd rather tell a client that upfront than deliver something that fights the framework for months.
